Water is vital, but not only that. For centuries water was used for the pleasure of men. In the past city ponds were well suited as a natural swimming facility.
In Boxtel lays such a city pond, the Leijsenven. The sediment was contaminated due to the use of copper sulphate to combat the blue algea. Royal Smals dredged the Leijsenven with geotextile dewatering containers. Due to limited amount of space 3 layers of Geotextile containers were stacked on top of each other. The dredged sediment was removed for further processing and decontamination.
